Why Smith but not Shree Santh

The one incident took place when Australia Captain was caught up for ball tempering case. He denied first, his team mates denied first but finally they agreed and accepted their faults.
And suddenly everyone against with them and demands to teach them lesson, some were demanding to take back all world cup trophies. (Did current team has won those world cups??)
Then ICC found guilty and punish them and then Australia captain came back to his country and cried to in front of people in live press conference. 
That’s it and now everyone is supporting him? Why?
Shree santh also was suspended for match fixing and also he cried but no one was supporting then woke up and did fight against injustice. And now he was found no guilty but still he may not play anymore. 
And all Indians are against him and supporting to Smith? 
Why?
